Increase in prices for PMMA semi-finished products

German MMA/PMMA producer Röhm (Darmstadt; www.roehm.com) has announced a price hike for the European market, for its “Plexiglas” and “Deglas” polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) semi-finished goods. The rise in costs is set at 8% for all new orders from 1 March 2021, and all deliveries from 1 April 2021. The sharp hike in raw material costs has been cited as the reason for the increase.
In December 2020, Röhm announced an increase of EUR 150/t for the same semi-finished products (see Plasteurope.com of 02.12.2020).
The company’s MMA/PMMA segment was sold to private equity firm Advent International by Evonik (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) in 2019. It has been operating under its former name Röhm since the acquisition.
